Pakistan’s Cholistan desert represents a dry region with harsh living conditions and most of the inhabitants are poor and rural. Clean water is scarce, and most families must walk several kilometers to get clean water. We aim to provide clean water sources in poor water access areas in the desert through the installation of water pumps and filtration plants to promote health and prevent waterborne illnesses in underprivileged populations. We are working in collaboration with the Paani Project (A US-based NPO) with the goal of 2 wells per year at this stage in villages with no access to clean water. Each well serves about 200 people. Future goals include covering clean water needs on a larger scale in the Cholistan Desert area in Pakistan.
